A massive glacier collapse on Langtang Lirung on August 26 2026, triggered a catastrophic flash flood and debris flow along the Nepal-China border. You can measure the seismic activity using open-source data. You can go a step further and use AI agents with tools like God's Eye View to create a minute-by-minute reconstruction of what actually went down, not only to understand what happened but to aid in recovery efforts. It's remarkable what capabilities we have access to today that were limited to large corporations and powerful entities even a decade ago. Tools in geospatial intelligence and open-source intelligence can be daunting. My hope is that God's Eye View can be a good entry point for everyone wanting to learn about the intersection of these fields and start building themselves on a completely open-source MIT-licensed foundation.
